Worklamps is ok on a switch. but the best way to wire em is to do what I'm doing with the ones I've fitted and that is. To mount an "On-Off-On" switch by the back door. run wire from centre terminal to lights, run feed from reverse switch to one terminal and a permanent live to tuther terminal. then You can leave em switched to come on when reversing and if you need a rear worklamp just flick the switch to tuther way and hey presto rear work lamps.

think common sense. I got roof lights and yes there's glare. hindering viability on open road so I leave them off. Because there so bright and there height. oncoming traffic would be blinded. good for the idiots who drive the back roads and leave there main beam on. There flood lights not spot lights. great for woodland and dogging. but other than that useless. I think you might have flood lights. spots would be much better. I have mine on a dedicated switch. so as to pass the MOT. As green lanes are highways same applies to them. Havin said that there shouldn't be oncoming traffic. if there is then it only be a fellow 4x4. so no worries. lets see a traffic cop stop the dogging and tell you to turn your lights off 700 foot above coniston.
