Good to see some progress on this - after the possibility of you selling it earlier, it's great to see it coming back together :)

Don't know why that Photobucket thing keeps appearing??

Cos it's marketing and tracking and all the other carp which the tinterweb throws at us.... IMHO, upload them direct to here - then they stay here for good - not at the beck and call of botophuckit :D:eek:

Now the photobucket thing has disappeared!!

I'm guessing it's because they haven't a clue what they are doing :D

Tried to get the throttle linkage sorted today.
My original pictures from when I stripped it down look nothing like the manual!!
So I created a hybrid version. Could any of you bright sparks see if this looks right??

What an awesome thread! Just read start to finish and now I'm going to be late tomorrow haha.

Worth it though, these project threads give you a kick to move on with your own.

Great progress! I think the geometry of your throttle linkeage is a bit off, it looks like it will work but I think it could be a bit vicious. Try setting it at full throltle and working back to see what angles you get.

Once I'm running properly I'll fettle everything to get best response. I was just making sure it looked right to actually serve the function.

Thank you.

It was project threads that got me started in the first place and gave me the momentum to restart when I hit a stop. It is also great to look back and see how much you've done (in 5 years!!)

Insane. Mines not even been a year but I do look back through it on 'I give up' days haha. Bet your glad you didn't sell now!

Come to a halt whilst waiting for headlamp bowls/wiring etc so looking to get the body work sorted.
Got a cat flap which I'm keen to use. Just checking with all the buckets of knowledge out there that I've got all the bits??

I've also got a handle for the outside but haven't got one for the inside... is that right??

if you are having a cat flap, I would think about using gas struts to hold it open, iirc the original mechanism has a habit of giving way when your head is in just the right position :D

Cat flap in and sorted. Probably go for gas struts eventually but for now going with the originals.

Next question!

I've got some decent seals for all my windows but the filler strips are buggered. Searched online and can't find anywhere that sells just the filler strips. Any suggestions??

OK. 2 and a bit years later. The saga continues. I'm sorry that the images haven't kept coming but life got in the way again and once again everything came to a grinding halt. BUT, this morning I drove the old girl for the first time in 9 years!!!! She also passed her MOT!!!! Just a few minor bits of fettling to do and I should have a road legal 1983 109 on my drive. Watch this space for exciting updates!!!
