getting wide tyres onto the bead

is there a way to do this that im just not seeing?

I have 33-12.5-15 tyres and im trying to get them onto 10x15 modulars..Ive today tried a ratchet strap around the whole tyre to try and get the sidewalls to fill out a touch and still cant quite get the thing to seal on the bead..

Besides the obvious answer of taking it to a tyre fitter, is there a method im missing? (besides lighting a form of flammable gas inside the tyre, this is not for me tbh)

Trying to do the whole rebuild myself you see. thanks

Pump it up ... Fairy liquid (other liquids are available) squirted in might help a bit .. though 'proper' tyre lube/sealer is better ..

Actually, hairspray might be good too .. slippery to start with, but evaporates and seals .. used on Mountain bike and Motorbike handlebar grips ..

I don't think doing the whole rebuild yourself would go as far as tyre fitting , personally I would take them to a tyre fitter

try it with some deoderant sprayed inside the tyre and throw a match at it, it does work, ive done it a few times when laning and pushed a tyre off rim

when i've watched tyre fitters, they just pump it up until it pops in place.

So the tyre is on the wheel but the sidewalls aren't sealing against the rim thus stopping you from inflating it? If I understand what you've said correctly. Might be worthwhile sticking an inner tube in it and inflating it that way

you have removed the tyre valve ain't ya??? try bouncing the tyre while the compressor is at full pelt. & speaking of which, you have got a decent sized compressor int ya??

Just sitting on them usually does it but yeah gotta have the valve core out and lots of air going in.

Cant find my valve key so couldn't get that out..yeah i cant seem to get the tyre beads amywhere near the lip on the new wheels. Perhaps its worth spending a few quid and just get it done by a tyre fitter. Probably save me a few hours in sweat and swear words

I done mine of the same size on my own

put the rim on a bucket or similar so you can push down on the outside of the tyre without it hitting the ground and push it down as much as possible, iirc i jumped on mine a few times with a foot on each side working my way around. be careful not to fall off the bucket you need to hold on to something. the bottom bead should now hold enough air to push it on the rim when inflating.

then while trying to inflate the tyre pull the top of the tyre up by the top treads so the top holds air and keep inflating until it pops onto the beads.

After i figured out this worked i have done quite a few with ease

We have at work a Cheetah, which is a device with an air tank, also known as a bead blaster. You fill the tank, connect the airline to the valve, start filling through the valve and then position the blaster in the gap betwixt wheel and tyre. The air is released in one go, causing the tyre to pop onto the rim and then inflate through the valve.

Might be worth finding a tyre fitter who could do it for you for a small green note shaped donation to their tea/coffee fund?

Also had you considered how you are going to get the wheels/tyres balanced?
