Genuine parts cost twice as much but last three times as long?

Is this a myth?

I have a day to fix defender on Tuesday, so needing to buy parts tomorrow.

Dingbro motor factors seems the only option for getting the parts same day?

Clutch release issue either or both of hydraulic and mechanical. Lost use of clutch pedal today when putting the vehicle under extreme towing strain on a steep hill in reverse on full lock like a retard. I suspect its more than master and slave cylinder as they appear only to be weaping.

Planning to buy clutch, thrust bearing, both cylinders, and whatever didn't need replaced can be kept for spares.

What else I need to buy parts wise as this is first time doing these jobs?

Noticed I'll need to grind down a 13mm spanner for nuts on master cylinder inside the black box, any other tool mods needed?

Really looking forward to it, just want to make sure parts I'm getting aren't from China!

I bought cheapo £12 steering box seals online because mine was weeping from the input shaft. 1 month later the replacements failed completely with no warning. Then replaced them with genuine LR seals and all's good - been over a month so fingers crossed, there was definitely a big difference in the seals just by looking at them so hopefully got it sorted....

You could try LRDirect as well, I believe they do 24 hr delivery, not sure if they are open during xmas break tho.
You will need the part numbers to order the parts.

Cheers

if its for a 200tdi def just add g after number ,ie slave 591231g master 550732g ,clutch kit stc8358g (comes with release brg )though if fitting a clutch i would add ftc2957hd

Also pick up a spigot bush 8566L or LFB500050 for the end of the crank (they are only a couple of quid) better to have it and not need it than the other way round, wouldn't do any harm to replace it anyway.

Turned out Dingbro was shut today

Thanks for part numbers and advice of other bits to do. James I hope you had your glasses on and numbers are right as I noticed elsewhere on the forum you got them wrong three times in a row :)
