Buggr. Had a puncture this morning which I didn't notice til I got to the office and the sidewall has gained a big cut in it so I assume the tyre is effectively scrap.

All my tyres are GG AT2s (except the spare), but they're generally not available any more.

Anyone got any idea where I might find a replacement in 255/55 18?

Would I have a problem mixing a pair of the new ATs with AT2s? I guess that's what I'll have to end up doing.

The new GG AT's tread pattern is not that different from the AT2, was just altered to lower road noise, there are a few of the older AT2's still available on fleabay though.

Really? I thought they were completely different and looked more like a road tyre. I accept they're very good - I just don't want to have to buy 2 tyres. Don't actually want to buy one tyre. Bloody car.

I have been looking on fleabay, but only found shagged ones in my size. Still, I spose I don't need one urgently (I'll get another puncture now I've said that).

Yeah I thought that from pics on the internet, but saw some up close last month and was quite shocked/pleased. I'll probably get them when the AT2's on my Disco need changing.

I don't know what tyres you were looking at but the new AT's look nothing like the old ones, I should know I have new ones on the back and old ones on the front of my Disco.

The tyres are just as good and if anything better on the road as they have the cut outs to shift water out from under the tyre but just as chuncky as the onld ones except on the shoulders.

I must be cock-eyed or summat because the tread didn't look that slanted to me   Have you tried them off tarmac yet?

I have a Cooper remould that is the same tread pattern, it's been in the back garden for a while so don't know whether it's OK.

It was a spare so hasn't done many miles.

You're welcome to it If you can sort collection.

I'm in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Appreciate the offer. Bit dubious about remoulds after past experience. Think I'll keep looking on fleabag. I've got until just before the Salisbury Plains trip to sort it.
