A lot them don’t actually expect follow up questions. You just need someone that answers you honestly and says ‘I dont know’ rather than gibberish.
It’s harder for you as your limited what you can do physically but you will find one you are happy with. Is better get one you are happy with that’s rough than stick with a lemon.
Just look at Henry b’s is stunning example but was pretty rough when he took it on. Big list of things to do but he could see the potential.

Indeed buddy i agree. My days of grovelling around under cars are sadly gone. There is a physical limit now to what i can do albeit my mental thinking abilities are still 100%. I know what to look for and what to check too when looking as well as all the questions dealers dread being asked. A " fixer upper " is just not for me sadly. I would rather pay a bit extra for a beautiful one and look after it as best i physically can and then let my local RR specialist do the rest for me. They are great guys, honest and trustworthy and P38 experts too they both are. Ex JLR factory master mechanics and both main dealer service department bosses who worked all their way up from sweeping the floor to running the place. They were sick of seeing customers getting robbed by main dealer prices so set up their own shop and have never looked back. Always rammed solid they are with Landies of all types including new stuff too.

You could always ask if a member local to the seller could cast an eye over it for you.I'd be happy to look at the one you were looking at up here if its not too far away, I'm not trying to beat you to the purchase BTW,just sold a 4.6 lpg and don't want another,I'm into diesel. ;):D

You sold the bastid?
I did mate, the Boss wouldn't let me do anymore, got it up and running and working as it should thanks to you and @tarphenry but with standing for so long, five years in my ownership, work delayed by four strokes ,and being sat for years before that, when she was running the front and rear crank oil seals started leaking. Front not a problem but she drew the line at engine out job. It went to a good home so all the trials and tribulations won't go to waste :(
