Gearbox xyz fault

hi guys the trouble I was having was that the disco would go into limp mode,And the m+s light started to flash turn of then restart and off you go.Untill yesterday lights flashing no engine management light on,and the gear selector on dash as disappeared and the lights each side of gear lever,also when trying to pull off its feels like the auto box is stuck in 2 no or 3rd I bought a hawk eye diagnostic total and comes up with p0705 selector switch fault ,also an intermittent throttle angle sensor fault can't remember the code for that one, anyway I decided to remove the old switch strip it down clean it and reseal and rivet it back together refitted it but still the same and won't cancel the fault code as there is an perminent fault.so I fitted a brand new xyz switch and still the same it's getting power because if you turn wipers on and selected reverse the rear wiper starts so can anyone help me before it becomes a bonfire lol so don't know if there is a fault inside box or would a blocked filter cause it to stay in a higher gear but this as cost me £330 for the xyz switch and £299 for the hawk eye and not getting anywhere fast

Do you have RAVE? if not download one cos you need the connector views, report when you have it then i'll tell you where to check cos it seems that the link between the switch and the transmission ECU + BCU has failed.

I forgot the body control unit under seat I'll check any wires have not broken or dislodged and yes I'll have to find something to down load the file onto has everything is 64 bit can you told it on to iPad

Unfortunately as I understand it, the RAVE does not download to apple products,

If needed a pdf version can be available but it is harder to use.

My copy of rave does not include either circuit diagrams or the electrical library which I had to download separately.

There are three power inputs through the xyz switch .
Reverse gear and associated functions are powered by a different input to the one you need to check.
I will say no more so as not to confuse matters further as sierrafery is very knowledgeable.

here's the plan:

1. unplug the xyz switch, go to C0678, this one is hardwired to the switch cos same colour wires both sides you have to check continuity on all, but before that follow the loom untill you can cos this one used th get chaffed where it leaves the body
2. if 1 is ruled out follow the wires to header C0724(it's embeded in that harness), make sure you dont mix it with other, the pins and wire colours must match
