Gearbox Oil - What is Best ?

I've read that the Texaco MTF94 is good, is that right ?

My local garage dont do it but can give me the castrol equivalent, is there a big difference between the brands.

How much oil is needed ?

As for the best oil I reckon the fully synth stuff called EVO1 from Difflock.com is better than most - not cheap but the last box I put it in certainly felt all the better for it.
