Gearbox mounts

How many mounts on a r380 gearbox in a disco ?, I'm going to change it from the lt77, I've got the crossmember and a square mount but can't remember what the others looks like :doh: .

Two mounts on a R380. One on each side of the transfer box.

Because it is the same transfer box on both R380 and LT77 you can just swap them over.......put the LT77 mounts onto the R380 box.

However if you have the crossmember that goes with the R380 then it's easy as....just swap them over.

When I did a similar swap I change over the speedo housing and handbrake housing as the speedo sender and handbrake mechanism are different between the two boxes.

This is a simple 'ring of bolts' on the back of the transfer box to swap the two over. Easy and obvious when you have both boxes next to each other on the floor

Can you remember if the slave cylinder is the same, also are the bellhousing bolts the same length .

I swapped over slave as replacement didn't have one. Did 3-piece clutch, pivot and release arm at the same time as well. All bellhousing bolts are the same.

Thanks andy thats saved me some time. Just pulled the transfer box of the r380, the mainshaft splines have a bit of wear, might try a longer transfer gear, dont know how long it cures it for though, if not it's a rebuild .
