Hi;

I've lost drive on my 2.5 DSE auto. Just let go when I was leaving a car park. I've had it checked at the local garage and they can't find a fault mechanically as far as they can see (levers and cables all seem fine). The shift moves smoothly between all the gears, and low ratio, but nothing happens.! I had the box re-built 2 years ago at an auto box specialists (£2500.00), and all was fine. I don't want to take it back (it was only a years warranty) as I'm slightly concerned they may rip me a new one! I'm hoping against all hope that somebody might have an idea what the problem might be and that it isn't going to cost me a kidney....................however...........!!!!

Typical, I only started her on the weekend, now the battery's flat! I'll sort that in a bit. From what I remember, the motor was running and the appropriate light did come up

Just a thought, low battery voltage can play havoc, one of the first faults to show is "Gearbox Fault", but the effects can be quite random.
Check your alternator is charging, should be around 14.2 volts at 2K rpm.
