Land Rover also state that the bow wave stuff doesn't work properly with beam axle cars as the axle causes the water to splash up into the engine compartment anyway!

Haha, It still lives though... Still waiting on my mate to send over the video.

Was hoping to post up a post saying everything's back to normal.. But Royal Mail are un-able to follow instructions so my new ecu is sitting at the sorting office for collection in the morning.
 
So It run's again!

Quick test after picking the bits up and everything seems to be fine,

Still no Central locking on the back drivers side door, but I can live with that for a few days.

Just need to put it back together and seal up the ECU's. Was going to put them into a Lock tight sandwich box.

Then maybe a gearbox service on the weekend.
 
thats brilliant news mate well done :):) maybe think about moving the electric jigery pokery to the boot area if you are planning on doing this again

Then maybe a gearbox service on the weekend.

Great news, maybe check diffs for water, grease/check u/j's and if you have diagnostic reset new gearbox ecu.

There will have been water on lots of wiring there will take a while to dry, hopefully not corrode too much:rolleyes:

That could just cause an overheat when the BECM is loaded with lights etc.

Checked dif oil all good, checked gearbox oil is ok but needs a change, that will be Saturdays Job & UJ are new so should be ok but have just greased them up, thanks

Was thinking as it's in a lock tight box can run with lid off and if I know I'm going to be going through deep water will put the lid back on,

Or was thinking of moving the ecu's to the boot area, Amy idea if this has been done before / where to buy the plugs so I can make up an extended loom.

I know a lad that put his Becm into the side of the boot area where the cut outs are for subs/cd changers and never had anymore problems with it and the loom side was done by a auto electrician

Leaks into the rear quarter and boot are common:eek:

That is quite true as I do have a small crack in my rear quarter (From when I bought it).

I was also thinking bolting it to the roof in the boot but not to sure on that idea.

This is why the rain needs to go and the snow need's to come.
