Hi guys, I'm relatively new to owning a land rover after dreaming of owning a FL 2 I finally bit the bullet and bought a 2008 FL2 3.2 I6 with a full service history and only 103000 km on the clock.

I recently noticed when the car is running hot I get a jerk Shifting from 2nd to 3rd and sometimes 5th to 6th, this only happens when the car is running hot and I drive normally, if the car is cold or I give it some beans gear changes are smooth. I booked it for a gearbox service on Monday but on my way back home today I got a transmission fault warning, no reduced traction just the fault warning. Any idea if this will be rectified with a good flush, service and Dr. Tranny added?

Thanks a million

Hi,

You have the L6 petrol engine ?

Automatic transmission ?
You have the choise between old gearbox oil, or solenoid that are on their way out.

Yes I have the L6 petrol with the automatic transmission, would you suggest oil and filter change with Dr. Tranny first or checking the solenoid, would I be able to pick up the solenoid as an error if I check with an OBD reader?

Thanks for the reply!

If taking to a garage use one that is very good with the auto boxes. May cost a bit extra but then you'll get a proper diagnosis.
Your location may help for any member reccomendations.

I'm from South africa, in the north west province I made an appointment at the best Gearbox service centre I can find in my area after asking around for about 2 weeks so just hoping for the best really.

What did they do during the service?
Did they do a partual change of the auto fluid?
Did they use the cirrect fluid?

Only dropping off the car tomorrow, stil deciding if I should do partial or full oil change and yes I bought OEM oil from land rover myself they're just doing the oil and filter change for me.

Funny enough disconnected the battery yesterday while connecting aftermarket spotlights and since then no jerking and no warnings so far.......might have been a bug in the electronics??
