Hi all, I'm currently living in Brisbane, hope you don't hold that against me! Bought a 1979 series 3 from an English guy about 15 years ago. Said he was a Landrover trained mechanic, which is why he bought this one. His visa was expiring and he was heading back to Oz. Not sure how true it was but it was road registered at the time and it was cheap, so I bought it. Came with a pile of spare parts and two brand new spare tyres. Had a leaking rad though and it overheated on me a few times in very inconvenient places. I parked it when the rego ran out, and now nearly 15 years later I've decided to restore it as a project with my kids. It's currently stripped to the chassis. Bulkhead is bad but looks like I can easily source the repair section needed. Chassis looks good apart from the front cross member/rail junction where the leaking rad has caused some major rusting. I'm in the process of fabricating a new section which I'll weld back in. Long way to go but I'm confident it can be brought back to decent condition and put back on the road. It has a holden 202 engine (very common in Oz), mated to what looks like the original gearbox. I'll clean them up and stick them straight back in once the chassis is ready. Long way to go but it's under way. Looking forward to the journey. I'll let you guys know how its progressing and no doubt will be asking for all sorts of advice along the way. Cheers.

Welcome to Landyzone Mick, and well done for bringing an old landy back to life. I understand landrovers are fallen out of favour in Australia.
