G'day guys
I thought I'd just drop you a line or two from Canberra, where I'm based for the next three years. I'm really a Pom on a posting. I used to subscribe to the LRE forum for any that may remember me as "Rocket". I have also joined AULRO down here because some technical info is specific to Landy's being used here and places to go is, well.... obvious.
I still have a 1989 V8 Ninety called Gromit back in UK and used to have a 1993 V8i Discovery. I'm recently the proud owner of a 1997 V8 SE Discovery that I bought in Australia. 83,000 miles total but apparently it had a warranty replacement motor at 10,00 miles. There is not one piece of rust on it all the chassis bolts still have their plating and it has been very well maintained, someone really loved it in the past. Well I'm going to love it too but it is going to be used as God intended Land Rovers to be used.

welcome , as an ex aussie Pom , make sure your radiator is in good condition , esp checxk that its been rodded out as they build up fur inside the tubes quite badly , as the water is usually very high in minerals in Oz , save you cooking the motor when summer arrives expect 40C+ . Its a great travelling country !

Wel
Thanks for the welcome guys (and gal)
Tacr2man where in Oz were you? Thanks for the Rad tip. th e rad looks pretty new and i suspect it has only ever had proper coolant mix in it but it certainly won't hurt to flush it out. Unfortunately it seems to have the AC pipework and the Auto transmission oil routed through it so It will be a pricey item when it needs replacing.
