Hi all again.
I’m just refitting the injector pump and I have a query.
I was intending to use hylosil blue on both of the gasket faces but realise that this would not enable me to turn the pump afterwards to set the timing position.
What has everyone else done here to seal the pump but allow it to be adjusted?
Cheers
Jim

Which engine?
If series I would just use a thin smear of grease.

Thanks. That’s what I’ll do then.

can I ask another gasket question while I have you?
These are the gaskets for the thermostat housing. Can you tell me which is for the housing to block and which is for the actual thermostat cover?
Cheers.

Dunno I've got a 200tdi:D.
However... If the green one is thicker or seems better quality than the other? Use that one on the block if they are the same size.

Interesting, I’ve worked in the motor trade fifty years and normally the thermostat gasket is paper,
But you are never too old to learn,:)

I’m not doubting your experience Europa :)
This is what has led me to my thinking it was the other way around…

After googling the two part numbers, the ERR3682 does come back as the thicker of the two and the 247874 comes back as the paper one. What dya think?
