I bought my LR Lightweight last July, with 12 months MOT and all it has cost me all year has been petrol, insurance and renewal of the tax...
Its done only a few hundred miles this year, but has been moved from Cardiff, to Droitwich (Worcs) and now resides down in Hatfield, Herts.
I want to find a mechanic (mobile is fine) to give it a good service / once over. Sort the brakes, bleed the clutch etc - the usual stuff, as well as check over the charging of the batteries. I'm absolutely non mechanically minded, nor do I have the time to work on it I'm afraid... but I want to put it through the MOT then decide whether or not to keep / sell.
Its in pretty original condition, apart from the batteries have been moved. Its 24v and still retains a lot of the military bits and pieces. Full safari roof and in generally unmolested condition, as far as I can see...
So if anyone knows a reasonable mechanic who would travel to Hatfield, or if you can recommend a garage within easy reach where I can have a service and maybe some general work carried out, I'd be very grateful.
If anyone has an idea as to value, too - I'd be interested. Lightweight prices seem to vary enormously between £1000 and £4000. He's registered on a "V" plate and was demobbed in the 90's by Craddocks. Mileage appears very very low and its definately in much better cosmetic condition than the ones I've seen recently on Ebay!
