Gap iid tool query

hello people...
i'm in need of some advise (or more like reassurance) before i shell out for the all singing/dancing tool...
really simple question is this:- i have a moto g30 phone and really really really need to know if anyone has one and if so, does the iid tool work on it.
in a nut shell, thats it.
 
I take it that’s an android phone system? They do work, but why not simply confirm with GAP, look on their site for specs.

can’t help much as I use ios,

@Hippo I don’t think uses crapple he may confirm.

It's not the phone but the android version.

We have an aincient moto (g4 I think) in the glove compartment. The author of the gap software sent us a slightly older version of the software that will run on that too.

(We use it for error stuff so don't need the cutting edge stuff)

But yeah, it's the android version, not the phone that matters.

(My g62 runs the software also)
 
my phone runs android 11 (probably would be more helpful if i were to get the phone model correct...its an E30... no idea where the g came from)
only reason i'm going through the motions is because of the horror stories i've read (somewhere while trolling the interweb)
think i'm going to bite the bullet and go ahead anyway. If the worst happens, i'll buy a 4th gen ipad
 
just got to add, for all of you out there, landyzone has been a tremendous help while we've had the L322. There certainly is a great wealth of knowledge among all of you and although i don't do much in the way of posting threads i feel that the future will be slightly different, especially with the imminent purchase looming on the horizon...

I have an iid bt and use it on me samsung a52 and a12. Worked on me old wileyfox anorl. Currently on android v13 but I have used it on older versions. Phone screens have become longer rectangles. On full screen the sides of the iid bt screen are chopped oft. I get round this by pressing the 3 bar icon to make all screens shrink, where yer can swap between screens. Move to the gap screen and press the top centre gap icon. Then select: open in pop up veiw. The gap screen is then shorter. Yer get to see all of the screen width now.

I have run gap on an HTC, two Huawei and currently an oppo find x5 and all were fine.
You can download the app and run demo mode to prove the app works then the only unknown is the Bluetooth but unless your phone is eleventy million years old it will be fine.

Bloody good price that, I think new they are circa 500.
This is also something to consider with the gap tool, the cost of ownership after you sell it will be much less than other tools out there.
 
well, don't i feel like a total muppet.... should have thought of that... but didn't...
dun it, tried it, just bought the tool. Now all i have to do is let the wife know i've spent another £50 on the car.
I'll explain about the missing zero when the bank statement comes in. Have already made a bed up in the workshop...do have a motorola dynatac though.... wonder if it'll work on that?
 
You bought a new one and you have a warranty as well as support, yes, it was a bit more expensive but trust me, you won't be thinking about the cost of it when you've used it a few times. I have one and I've used it on our L322, the wife's Disco 4 and her best friend's Disco 4. Buying the extra licence is just a cost associated with changing car for me now and her friend said it was cheaper than taking it to a garage once and we've coded a replacement key, trailer wiring for a bike carrier, new Aux battery etc.

Remember, it only costs you the difference of what you sell it for later once you've decided you'll never buy another Range Rover which probably explains why they come up for sale so rarely.

Plus 1, indeed great on the iPad and has certainly paid for itself that’s for sure

was invaluable when I was trying to find the airbag errors on my D3 , then when I found it allowed me to reset the airbag module

I sold mine saying I'd not have another RR, here I am 3years later, RR in drive and gap iid bought very next day!
 
My IID has gone wrong. The app works fine, but the silly thing just says the tool is busy and may be updating.

I keep meaning to email Pat at Gap, but never seem to remember to do it.

As for the app, it'll work on android and crapple.
 
I think you can plug them into a computer too (with a wire). I can't remember the detail but i seem to recall doing that with mine once for some reason.

That is to check if there are later versions of the firmware available, just did mine as your post reminded me I had not done it for ages.
