Galvanised chassis

With the number of D2's on the streets, and reports of early models having rusty chassis, it's only a matter of time before the Chassis manufacturer's (Marslands, Richards, BARTtec etc) recognise the market.
Ok, now one makes disco2 td5 chassis now, but Designea Chassis of Doncaster would if they got enough orders. About 15 or 20 would be enough to set up and they could knock them up at about £1400 each. Better than 4 grand, for a non galvanised one from Landrover. That would make my car worth fixing, and better than new otherwise it's scrap at 10 years old.
...seen his website ( http://www.designa-chassis.co.uk/company.asp ) - looks like he is keen to get involved

I'm at a crossroads with my D2. I've owned it from new 181,000 miles in 9 years. Got an extended test drive (24 hours) in a Defender 110 Puma coming up. If I buy the Puma, the D2 will be for sale. If I don't buy the Puma, I'll be doing a rolling restore on my D2, and would consider replacing the chassis whilst doing the rest of the work... It's not rotton (I have waxoyled it a few times over the years), but would consider doing it "once and for all" if a galvanised chassis was available at the right price as part of the overall rebuild. The idea of a galvanised chassis with copper brakle pipes etc is great for the harsh Scottish winters up North. The Landy should then last as long as I will need it to last!
