Also ex grays lad. What road? White hall road me

I am actually from Stifford Clays :)

Well my chinese in/out temp guage and clock lasted 2 weeks :mil66:

Backlight no longer works and it thinks its a constant 42 degrees in the cab :D

Think i am going to get a 5v PSU one and stick a resisitor inline to drop the voltage.

it’s one of those things that’s easier to explain than try and write down.
You have a normal circuit for the lights with relay etc.

The input wire (+12v) you have to trigger the relay which will normally be from your main beam feed, you also put a switched+12v permanent feed to, but then you need to put 'in-line' a 12v diode on both the main beam feed and the 12v live feed to stop them switching on each other.
Its the same for the rear work lights, only your live switch is from the reversing lights.

I will see if I can draw up a diagram cos I reckon that description above only makes sense to me!!!

Spookly enough i totally understood what you meant...!!!!
does this mean we could be on the same wavelength?? (scary)

dont think a resistor would be the best idea may end up getting hot....

A better option would be a voltage regulator... or use the innards from one of the USB type chargers (which is basically a 5v regulator anyway)

Well, it has yet to be installed, but this little beastie will control all of my lights and compressor etc. It is what is used in police vehicles and isnt a cheap little setup, but very good to control lighting circuits! Now i need to wire the sodding thing in!

Doesn't look that hard as long as long the wiring is kept altogether, contained and terminated correctly.
