Hi,

I have a Gelaendewagen G460 - 300GD, is it normal that the front
differentialhousing gets really hot? I almost burn my fingers when i touch
it. The rear differential doesen't get nearly as hot!

Thanks in advance

Although my G-Wagen has travelled only yards in the (three?) yewars
that I've owned it, I would be fairly confident that the diff should
not get this hot in normal use.

If you're mechanically minded, take the diff cover off and see what's
wrong. Otherwise, arrange a mortgage and go to see the nice Mercedes
people :)
