No interest or affiliation but noticed this and knowing that a few of you are looking for one!!!
Did consider it, don't need to put stuff on the roof and so it is an expensive lamp bracket!!
Do it, you won't be putting fuel in it for a while anyways, you've got an engine to rebuild / replace, #turbo so sorn it for a few months, and put it back on the road and trails with a one eight turbo, G4 roof rack, all the spot lights and a set of G4 decals, plus your company's name, make it a demo car / sales tool. But if I buy that, not enough money to put fuel in it!!!

Who could fabricate clones if DD or me bought it??
Since @Alibro has seemingly shelved his leccy landy project, erhaps he could do it? Or DD could use the same fab ship as makes the rocksliders.Pretty much anyone with a tube fabrication workshop, and the skills to use the equipment.

John is right.Ali hasn't shelved the EV, he's just busy with work n stuff.
He's been busy with the BMS wiring, which will take some time, as there's many cells to connect, after checking the wiring multiple times.
I'm glad you're still sticking to the plan Ali, but I knew you were.John is right.
It's true I lost motivation because of some personal things that happened in the last few months.
Also I've been tied up with work etc and held back by delays in receiving some bits but I haven't shelved anything.
The last few weeks I've been working towards getting the Nissan Leaf BMS and charger to work nice with the eGolf battery pack and this is still ongoing. I'll come back when I have some progress to report.
Thanks mate.I'm glad you're still sticking to the plan Ali, but I knew you were.
It's good to see the EVSW RX8 on the road proper now.
That must be a relief for you to see, knowing the DVLA issues can be overcome.
Thanks mate.
As for the DVLA I am still considering buying a 2000 (or very early 2001) car and selling the 04 car I bought. I would really like to have £0 tax as it would help justify the whole project so in some ways it would have been easier had I been forced to go that way.
I know I'm in the minority but I actually prefer the looks of the pre facelift FL1 with the black trim but not so fond of the brakes or lack of them. I have all the bits I need to upgrade a 2000 model if I chose to go that way.I can see the logic there Ali.
You can of course use all your facelift components on a 2000 or earlier FL1, so you could make it look like a later model, and benefit from zero tax rate.
Unfortunately if I wanted to do the same thing to a FL2 (I am considering it), I'd still have to pay the VED, unless there's a change in the regulations.
But please go ahead and start a conversion. It would be great to have another idiot as stupid as me on the forum.
The wife's not so keen, and with the prices of everything going up, my EV Freelander dream is getting further away by the day.
I prefer the most pioneering.
I'm still the stupidest one here.
I think I've got that crown well and truly claimed - I sold a discovery 300tdi and bought a citroen c5.
I'm still the stupidest one here.
