Right. Stereo fitted and working. That lead works a treat Clarky, thanks.

I simply hadn't connected a couple leads. Completely stupid of me. Good thing I don't work with stuff like this for a living, and just with million dollar oil field tools, lol.

Anyway, its running great. But I did notice that now the stereo is up and running the satnav doesn't really update its location. It does sometimes, but it doesn't track like it used to. Strange, as even with the radio removed it worked a treat.

The sound still works as well. It will give spoken instruction, even through the new stereo. But since its not tracking the car anymore, it is essentially useless. Not really worried though, it is pretty basic, despite having the 2012 maps, lol. Garmin is better.

Never played with a Rangie sat nav but is it possible that you've dislodged an external aerial feed into it as you re-fitted the head unit?

It's possible... The antenna is under the air intake plenum and the cable is a single co-ax that feeds to the nav unit itself in the right-hand side of the boot. It feeds it's audio directly into the DSP amp without going through the HU at all. The screen is just a 'Display Control Unit' - effectively a remote control for the actual gubbins in the boot. No idea exactly where the antenna cable routes, though...

You can put the sat nav into 'service mode' by selecting the settings menu and holding the menu key for about 10 secs... it should show a self-diagnostics screen that will tell you if anything is amiss with signals or connections, etc...

Nice one Clarky. I will have a look at that.

I'm not really too bothered about it if I'm honest. It was a nice addition to have, but being 12+ years old, it is pretty basic. But if I can get it working, then great.
