Hi everyone

Recently I’ve been experiencing what I can only describe as fumes in the cabin of my SD4 Freelander 2, coming though the heating/cooling system… not all the time but more now than before… Has anyone else experienced this? Or know of what the cause may be?

Cheers

Define fumes steam diesel smells damp watery acrid. Condensation can accumulate from cold days when air conditioning or heating on. Does that effect the windscreen.

It’s more of a diesel / engine smell.. and a little acrid, causing me to open the window

You might have a water coolant leaking hitting the exhaust. For air conditioning sitting waste residue can smell like wet socks. Oily smelling exhaust leaking through pipes and bodywork or ventilation. Use a fresh tissue and wipe the windscreen near the air vents see if that smells.

The smell is definitely coming through the vents, and smells oiley if anything.. Although I did have the thermostat housing changed a couple of months ago, as it was leaking. so perhaps that might be leaking.. or residue from that original leak could be burning off I suppose?

I thought the fumes were intentional, to get you high on long journeys... There's no other reason someone would drive a Landrover is there?
