Afternoon all, I've just had to drop the tank from our D2 TD5 as the fuel pipe assembly above the tank has started leaking and spraying diesel everywhere. It was only the one with the green connector that was leaking, but all lines showed signs of wear so I've ordered the group of 4.

However, I also noticed the vent pipe from the tank (the plastic pipe with the loop in it, not the straight rubber hose) has also rubbed through. I can't seem to find this part listed anywhere ? Does anyone have a part number ? If, as I am anticipating, it's not available is there an accepted fix ? Cut and shut with some rubber hose and clamps maybe ? Is this line pressurised ?

Line isn't pressurised. As the name implies, it vents tank vapours to prevent the tank from pressurising and allows air in to prevent it collapsing as it empties. You can replace it with a rubber/plastic/silicone hose of suitable bore to make a tight fit at the tank connection. I also fitted a small jubilee clip to make sure it was secure on mine. Or, as you suggest, cut it and slide over a slightly larger rubber hose, whichever is easier.

That's a relief, thanks for the information - I'll have a scout about and see what I can find. I've since realised that the problem with a larger bore rubber hose is getting something to fit in the channel in the top of the tank so it doesn't rub on the floor again, but at least I know what I'm working with now, much appreciated !

It was easy for me to change the whole thing but I don't have the Disco rear body getting in the way. I used clear fuel line which fit the channel nicely.

Thanks, but unfortunately that's not the same part - it has a 90deg bend in the pipe and is much longer, with the QR fitting at just one end. The other end is permanently attached to a fitting on the top of the tank.
I think you mean pipe nr 23, it used to be "choked" at the loop pointed with red arrow then it can cause some trouble, it's not a simple pipe, it has a valve in that solid section pointed 23 but unfortunately it's completely obsolete, nobody has a new one for sale

Thats interesting, the end of mine has a QR fitting that joins another hose that runs up the chassis towards the front of the D2 ?

It should fit onto the filler tube. Perhaps a PO has made a modification?

Or maybe you've mistaken it for one of the fuel lines, which are in the same area.

You are so right ! Yes, the QR from the hose in question does indeed connect to the filler tube. It's one of the 4 pipe cluster that connects to the hose that runs up the rail to the engine bay.

Now I just need to find a pair of the double pipe clips that are fitted to the top of the crossmember and hold the bottom two pipes from the fuel pump cluster off the crossmember. I managed to break both of them getting the pipes out and now I can't see them listed anywhere ?

Hmm, that's what I used to clip my fuel lines when I built Project Disco. I can't find any that are the other way up. The only ones I can see on the page I linked to are for brake lines, which are smaller. I'm pretty sure that's what was on the fuel lines when I stripped PD down. My memory isn't the best these days though so I could be wrong.
