Is there anyone on here who can throw any light on how to do this....I've seen a lot of people on here who have had theirs done at local garages, but I want to try to do this myself. Can I do this with the back wheels on ramps?, how do I support the fuel tank? and what about the sub-frame, is it easy to drop and put back in the right place? - Cheers

Cheers hd3, I've already seen these posts, the problem being I don't have a two post lift so the room under the car is very limited. What I'm now thinking of doing is putting the car on ramps, undo while supporting the sub-frame on axle stands and lifting the rear of the car 3 to 4 inches clear of the sub-frame, then remove the cradle. But I'm probably going to leave it for a month for the good weather

I did it with my car on ramps at the front and jacked up with axe stands at the back I only wish I had taken photos or filmed it . I undid the bearings on the prop and I took the rubber exhaust support of the back next I undid the bolts a little bit on the fuel tank and then threaded 2 ratchet straps underneath the cradle in-between the tank I opened the back doors and then joined the ends together of the ratchet straps and then ratcheted them up so it held the tank up, my son in law said I always thought of ways to get things done, then undid the subframe bolts and let it down gently and then undid the frame bolts and at a squeeze you can get the frame off without taking the prop off completely make sure when putting things back together you use a torque wrench especially on the sub frame bolts or you will have the dreaded clicking from the sub frame

by putting ratchet straps on and through the doors it saves having the tank supported and thus allows you to move the cradle better

A little old this post but you've just given me a solution to most of the questions I had. Did you replace the bearings or were they okay?
