Do I need to remove the fuel tank on a 04 TD5 to change the in tank fuel pump or is there an inspection cover in the floor?
Thank you
Ok thanks, I was trying to find something on here but didn't have any luck
hi,if you use the quote button when replying, then it shows who you are replying to.
If you have the seven-seater, remove the seat trims in the boot floor and cut between the top or the bottom of the cut-outs, that will give you a flap to lift and get at the access plate. Don't cut both ends, just the one is enough.

Yes where the 3rd seats lock into the floor, if you have 3rd row seats.
I have just been out and took a few pictures of mine for you
Measurements where 55.5cm from the inside of the black trim, as show in the picture. And it's 38cm from each side of the car. View attachment 58617
Thanks, not sure if I have the ⚽️⚾️ to cut the floor away, will have a look
It was a general thanks to everyone, still learning on the site
I don't see why you need to cut the carpet, I did ours without resorting to the Stanley knife, and I know another chap who has too.
You do need to remove the carpet trim just inside the rear door, one of the boot mounted seats and the rigid plastic panel behind though.
It help, when fitting a new pump, to position the rubber seal on the lip of the fuel tank first, then install the pum, then the locking ring.....
After much swearing, I rang a friend for advice and the pump & locking ring were fitted in minutes after that!!
