Hi I'm a new member I'm doing up series 3 diesels for my grandsons one finished and working on another,
My question is im needing to replace the fuel pipe from the spill of at the injectors to the filter, the pipe that's on it is strong plastic wondering if I can fit braided clear plastic pipe from diy shop with clips on the connectors, will it be strong enough, thanks for your replys in advance

You can get a ready made replacement, ERC4480 Diesel leak off pipe. Simpler and likely just as cheap as all the bits you want.

Hi it's not that pipe it's one off two connected to the end of erc4480 one goes back to the tank the one I mean is going back to the filter

I did our 101 with clear (makes it simple to see air leaks) nylon pneumatic pipe, with brass inserts and compression fittings.

You want nylon air brake pipe, same as used on trucks etc.
Always measured by the od, different wall thicknesses will give you the id that you need.
The clear braided pipe is just plain crap, okay to get you out of a jam, but goes hard and leaks after a while.

The pipe doesnt have much stretch in it at all.

You can get it in boiling water for a bit of expansion, but, really, not much.

Id suggest buying your fittings and measuring them, and then buying pipe to match. I mean 1/2 mm less or whatever, but don't think "I'll get it 2mm too small and stretch it over" as it just doesn't have that much give in it.

The OEM pipes don't have clips over them. All mine do as, well, I'm not that confident. Get little t bolt (etc) ones rather than rubbish jubilee clips.

They go on cold and dry, done loads over the years on truck air brake systems.
Seen plenty of people who heat them, always ended in failure, when I started out that is also what I did.

Ive had someone else tell me similar once (might even have been you for all i can remember! : )

I find that the pipe kinks off to the side if i try.

I wanted to do my 300 leak off pipes. Got one section, kind of, just over and then gave up.

Small ones can be buggers.
