while driving my disco yesterday i discovered my fuel lift pump was leaking fuel. (thought it was drinking bit much even for christmas). managed to find a brand new one on ebay for £21.35 which seems a good deal can anyone tell me if it will be a straight swap or is there something i need to watch out for i have a 1996 300tdi although i have had this disco since may i havent had to do anything but planning to do a bit after newyear
thanks

Yea, stick it in and thats is pretty much, you might need to change the couplings to fit onto the new pump.

I had to get some fuel pipe, and pipe clip that onto the pumps in/out pipes then onto the original ridgid plastic pipe to the tank and then take the plastic off the fuel assy and push and clip the new pipe onto that.

Once all connected up, that should be you, you shouldn't have to, but bleed the system as there will be a fair bit of air in the system if you don't.

WHAT... is it gold plated? The pump should be under £20.

Thats mental, it can be done in about 20-35mins depending on how willing the bolts are, so don't let them charge you a heap.

All the work was covered by the warrantee, the parts were Landrover original. All done now. The next thing is an EGR blanking plate.
:)

just fitted the fuel lift pump cost £21.00 for a new boxed one from ebay was slightly different size so was a bit of a bitch had to disconnect th 2 rear injectors then bleed the fuel through just to make sure but running well now so glad to get rid of my brothers 306
