Last night I noticed a little patch of diesel on the drive under the drivers side rear mudflap... A couple of weeks ago I had the complete set of fuel pipes replaced over the tank due to the common problem of chafing on the body, so I thought this could be related.
On closer inspection there was a small drip coming off a pipe (about 1" dia) that comes down from the filler neck somewhere and then bends 90 degrees before going across over the fuel tank. The drip seemed to be coming from the 90 bend, where the pipe clamps to a 90 degrees plastic fitting.
I removed the rusted up jubilee clip and replaced it with a new one. The pipe seems a bit deformed where the clip was. Not sure if it's cured it, I'll find out today.
Could be coincidence but we filled up to the top with fuel yesterday ?
Anyone know what this pipe is/does ? It probably needs replacing but I'm not sure if it's full of fuel or not ?
Thx
