Spill pipes are just usually a tight push fit on the nipples. I have never seen any with clips on. Not to say it doesn't happen but never seen any. New pipes fitted properly will not leak or come off. Only when they perish or go brittle with age do they cause a problem.

I can't believe you haven't seen a clip on a fuel pipe even if it is a leak of pipe don't know of any fuel pipes that are not secured what an understatement!

On fuel pipes yes as there is pressure, on leak off pipes no, not on P38's, or Transits for that matter.

Not any pressure or not much make your mind up the fact this can leak fuell that in itself is why it should be secured allowing a good seal, combined with good matainance pipes would be replaced with indication of perishing , just like you would with a brake pipe ...

Perhaps you should advise LR/BMW and Ford of this as they do not fit them.
Not much pressure means exactly that, could also be expressed as next to none, feck all, not a lot etc.

I didn't say fuel pipe i said spill pipe. I have been at this game for 50 plus years i have never seen a clip on a spill pipe. As i said i am not saying it does not happen but i have never seen one. And neither have you on any factory standard Land rover.

For starters the leak off pipe on the p38 is rubber
If you botherd to look under your bonnet on the transit they are of the plastic type

totally different the are crimped on in the same way the fuel filter feed pipe is connected to the banjo on the p38 at least use a car that is using the same hosing for starters or would you like another photo leave you clip off i will put mine on

Bit different to a clip round the pipe those. They go at either side in a slot to retain a plastic pipe with a seal in it.

Just giving examples at the end of the day a clip won't do any harm but it will prevent a leak on a worn perished pipe and you know it

if checked regularly and not left you should never have a leak only those that wait for it to fall off will...

I use heat shrink tube for the ends of the leak off pipes, I believe it tightens them up slightly

I believe its 3.2 inside diameter @wammers will confirm or correct.easy job, mind you the number of times I've done it I could do it in the dark. Sh1te quality pipe around..
