What a day, learned a few things, but not there yet, bit of a nightmare in fact lol, put the regulator on, and was screwing the second pipe onto the FPR and it cross threaded, bugger took it all off, reconditioned thread, built it back up (with the stub on) pipes back on purging fuel, oh it's not leaking, not possible ah there we go no leak from FPR, but a leak from the cooler, woe is me, question can it be bypassed, repaired, I've obviously put a bit of pressure on the pipe, 17 years old, deffo parts on it not happy with age.

Been busy, put a few miles on the disco 2 after fitting not only a Fuel pressure regulator, to which I fitted a service kit, but also a fuel cooler, which sprung a FUEL leak, tricky work, took FPR on and off THREE times, for one reason and another, black belt now, I should add the bastard bottom bolt I eventually found quite easy not from the top, OR the bottom, BUT with a long extension from the wheel well.

hopefully its good , if it lasts ill certainly use the same parts
Jamesmartin, the kit I purchased was from i6, one point worth a mention is that the kit did NOT supply the thick "0" ring which holds the fuel filter in, and one larger "0" ring not used ?, so take care not to damage it, gaskets are standard "Britpart".

I've just replaced my FPR control valve, gasket and small pipe o rings, about 2 weeks ago, noticed a leak again getting really bad as to be undrivable diesel flooding out!!. I managed to take video via squeezing an old iPhone in the space underneath when the engine was running and it showed substantial leak where the circlip sits so assuming the larger O ring on the FPR control valve is letting by. The leak is not coming from the hole preformed in the valve. Just ordered a complete new unit. Noticed the leaking control valve fitted there is no small pipe sticking out the side, just a hole in the top, and not on the side as with others I have seen. Also I have read the fuel scores the surface of the regulator where the large O ring sits so causing the leak to worsen. Thats what made me now purchase the whole unit and not the service kit....again. Any comments welcome.

Now fitted new FPR unit, ran engine and no leaks....except for a new weep on the fuel return top hose going to the FPR, on the crimped joint nearest to the engine, the joint to the engine block, to replace this fuel line looks totally inaccessible unless dismantling of the intake manifold and associated bits. May just leave and keep an eye on this.

Doubt a fuel leak will fix itself.
