Disco 3 (LR3) Fuel leak after changing Camshaft & FIP belts

Hi guys...Changed the belts last weekend, front was easy but rear (FIP) was a pain :eek:
Anyway, car started fine and ran as sweet as ever.
Took it out for a run on Monday (First outing) and when I got back, I noticed a trail of diesel on the drive. Had a look underneath and there was a trickle coming from one of the small oil cooler bolted to the chassis, it appeared to be from the connector located on one of the larger stub pipes on the cooler-hard to tell really as it was dripping off the corner of the cooler. This pipe went up to the top rear of the engine to a connector with a blue pipe release button located on the fuel bleed valve. I had been pulling & pushing both pipes whilst replacing the rear belt.
Bit the bullet and got a S/H cooler and replacement fuel pipe complete with connector even though the pipe & connector did not appear to be damaged.Fitted the replacement cooler and pipe but it's still p^&&^ng out.
The cooler has four stub pipes, two at the top 10mm dia and two at the bottom 8mm dia so it's impossible to get them mixed.
The other pipe from the top rear of the engine goes to a connector with a white release button located close to the fuel bleed valve and the other end to a connector close to the fuel filter-had to drop the transmission under guard to access it.
Can anyone confirm that these locations are correct. In the meantime, I'm going to try yet another cooler as it's difficult to see the precise location of the leak lying on one's back and getting soaked in the process.
Incidentally, the engine sounds "Lumpy" when running.
 
UPDATE.....After a couple of days checking & changing, found the source of the leak to be an injector leak off pipe which had come off the rear L.H. (Looking in from the front) Injector. Managed to refit it and started the engine. After a couple of minutes, noticed fuel dripping from underneath-the pipe had come off again. refitted it and managed to put a tie wrap on it as it was a loose fit on the injector plastic fitting. Started the engine again and the middle spill pipe came off.
Have ordered up a leak off kit with brass fittings and a length of hose to be cut to suit.
The R.H. bank looks to be fine but I will change the lot.
Will update shortly.

Thanks Bud...Have replaced the fuel filter with a genuine one two days ago but haven't had chance to fit the new leak off pipes yet. I managed to lose one of the clips and have a pack of four coming, hopefully be here tomorrow.
Contacted the supplier, who are injection specialists and they state that putting a tie on the hose where it fits onto the stub is down to self preference.
Quick question... can the small retaining clips be inserted from either side ? The reason being that the L.H. bank (Looking from the front) clips come out from the rear which is more awkward than the R.H. which come out from the front.

Always the way with clips and know if u drop anything in these engine bays , forget it, into the u known, lol

RESULT !!!
Fitted the new spill pipes and metal fittings, kept the front plastic fittings with the hard nylon pipe which is crimped on to the front injectors and replaced the pipes to the remaining two injectors each bank. Also made some wire ties which I secured the new pipe to the fittings. Put the wire braiding from the old pipe over the new ones. Discovered that the retaining clips can be inserted from either side which is easier for the L.H. bank (Looking from front).
Bled the fuel system and engine fired up at second attempt, ran a bit "Lumpy" for a few seconds then settled down to it's usual smoothness. Gave it a few bursts and no signs of any leaks. Topped coolant up and let it idle for half an hour with a few bursts now & again-all good.
Got there in the end !!

I have a few of the old plastic spill pipe fittings and one spare clip and about 2ft of 3.2mm bore hose if anyone's stuck-just drop me a PM.

Hi John...It was the memory module not recognising the steering column memory if you recall.
The reason I bought the module was because the passenger side mirror had a mind of it's own intermittently.
Took it to the main stealer early in the year and their guru spent about 3 hrs on it. Turned out that the steering column has a unique barcode which has to be programmed into the module. The numbers underneath the barcode were missing so he couldn't do the job. He gave me the barcode label and I got my Nephew to read it-had the numbers back after about an hour.
Decided to get JLR SDD and will have a go at programming it in myself when I get time.

The old P38 Rangie used Lockset barcodes which had to be programmed into a new or unlocked BECM and was the main component within the security system.

Have you been getting mucky & muddy lately ??

Did you see the pic of the connector in the battery box, by the ECU's in this topic ?
If you get chance, can you have a look at your HSE and shed any light on it ??

Many Thks, I’ve spent the last 12 x months tearing it apart so indeed feel I can’t do any more , reminds me I must double check my tyre pressures tommorow before the wheel alignment :)

As Gary has said, on mine it plugs into the egr valve
