ive got a 1991 v8 110 and want to change the fuel filter which sits outside under the drivers seat,it's a paper element so sits in a bowl with a nut at the bottom,I undid the nut but fuel pouring everywhere,would it eventually stop giving me time to change the filter or do I need to do something else

Gravity feeding from tank... wont stop until tank drains!... brake pipe clamp on fuel line...or remove feed line and bung end to stop flow... long time since I've worked on the old V8...
