just for comparason, seems the V8 at 33mpg equivalent is more economical
Downhill with the engine turned off?V8 doing 33mpg not a chance lol

Key word being equivalent. On LPG, obviously.just for comparason, seems the V8 at 33mpg equivalent is more economical
Equivalent is the operative word, and that would be petrol v lpg in cost as Adam D1 states above.V8 doing 33mpg not a chance lol
Depends on the V8, the saloon V8 car I sold just under 3 years ago regularly did 38 to 42 mpg on a light throttle so it can be done but that was a modern car with a modern engine, but then on a heavy throttle the dash display would show 8 mpg but I was happily as I was accelerating up to 170 mph, leaving my brother in his V8 XF behind, but then disappointed as road test said it tops out at 177 mph, I was done.V8 doing 33mpg not a chance lol

My disco doesn’t have lpg but then all my cars that I’ve owned from the black & white days have had a petrol engine , I’ve never had an issue with the cost in running any vehicle whether an a 850cc fitted to a mini or 4.2 V8, all down to ones disposable income I suppose.I did clearly miss the lpg but its been a long hard week & we don't have lpg/gas we still burn coal here lol
everyone I know with a v8 pays through the nose for having one hence why I don't have a v8 beasty !!

If you can buy LPG at a good price, then it will likely always match or equal diesel in terms of pence per mile. Of course if you have the cost of the LPG conversion to consider in the running costs, then it may take some serious mileage before this gain is actually noticed.I'm interested in finding out what a Disco 2 diesel does to the gallon, my petrol V8 runs on gas and is cheaper to run than the defender 200tdi
