Frozen Washers

BMW's have heated washer jets, they also have cabin heaters that stop the interior getting below freezing...
;)back in 1971, I saw a neighbours car fitted with eberspacher heating unit on a norweigen Audi.
what caught my eye was the huge 12V mechanicle time clock fixed to the dash!
it was petrol powered, under the bonnet,
powered by a good old SU petrol pump, and its exhaust exited near the front/nearside wheel. but used the hot exhaust gas to warm the rads bottom hose pipe through a simple heat exchanger.

pre heating with a block heater all in one.

and BMW`s have them now?......lol

Its not the less use i want it for, its the fact im lazy and hate to de ice the windscreen every morning. And its a stretch to reach the middle haha but cant justify £110 odd for it thats enough de icer for a life time, but may dive a DIY job ago :)

I have the answer. Stand on the bonnet and **** on the jets :)

However, need to save some for me door lock which also froze solid :-(

Methylitated spirit (meths) works wonders and wont freeze, ratio 1:5

a smudge of Vaseline on yer door lock or in the keyhole, (keeps the water out), should stop the freezing of the lock - and don't forget to put a smear on the door rubbers to stop 'em sticking shut ;)
