Ok, so I'm in the middle of (trying) to fit a new front n/s hub to the D2 and cannot get the bloody nut off!!

Any tips other than breaker bar? I've got a 900mm bar and it's starting to bend and the nut isn't moving at all..

Do I give in and take it to the garage or has anyone got any tips I could try?

In case there is anyone local to me I'm near Eastleigh Hampshire...

Cheers

Is it a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar or a 1/2 drive breaker bar? If 1/2 , then I would recommend you go and buy a 3/4 sq drive bar.

try putting a scaffold bar over the handle to stop it bending.

Cheers

Persevere!! only last week i had to change my rear Discs/Pads (3 hours later!!!) with problems with the carrier bolts? and caliper slider bolts
Heat (Be careful), breaker bar (be able to have movement!), and welded bolt (which broke!!!!).
So long as you can break the bolt seal on one of them, you should have good access to the others ones so long as you can move the caliper/Carrier up and down??

Im assuming your stuck on the above! as the bolts for the hub assembly are straight forward

Thanks both.

Stuck on main hub bolt, got discs changed ok and bolts on hub rear loosen ok.

Was 1/2 bar - which I've just snapped!! 15st standing on it shattered the end.. Off to find a 3/4" bar... Bugger

Yep, you aint the first, and will not be the last, if you were nearer I would pop in , try and get a 3/4 drive bar with a socket. SO that the adapor does not become the weak point, they will go, but they are tight.

I hope you have a torque bar to do it up.

Cheers

Hi, Sorry for asking the obvious question - but you have unstaked the hub nut?
Pity I'm not near to you as I have an impact gun. Would a local tyre depot help to intitialy loosen it?
