Hi there

2001 Vogue Petrol. Just went to the local garage for a quick service, oil and filters, plugs and leads they also replaced all pads all round, car is now refusing to get of its bumps at the front, was working ok before. I've had allsorts of issues in the past with collapsing suspension, much like many on here, but the recent addition of a refurbished compressor fixed all that and the system was working like a dream. I've got black box EAS kicker lite which has always reset things and also the cd and wires for EAS reset (which I've never had much success with). Any thoughts, have they damaged something, left something off. Cheers in advance.

Maybe enough air to lift the rear but none to lift the front. Is the compressor running with engine started?

hi yes compressor running with engine running, left drivers door open with engine running to get some pressure in the system, closed door and rear flew up but nothing at the front.

Did they have it on a two post ramp doing the brakes. Maybe it has dipped the sensors into a dirty part of the track hanging the wheels. Can't see they could have disconnected anything that would cause your problem. Is compressor producing any air. Look in "HOW To" section for how to check that.

they might have a 2 post ramp, not sure, I'll ask. Is that as easy as it sounds, lift it back up and clean the sensors? They are nice enough chaps but like most non specialist are a bit horrified by the air suspension...I said I come on here and give them some clues where to start...

You can't clean the sensors they are sealed. Needs to go on diag and see if anything comes up. But if you have a solid access lamp and a flashing standard lamp, if that's what you have, it is short of air. If all the lamps are lit it has an hard fault and won't do anything until it's cleared.

Hiya. ah right, Solid access lamp and flashing standard or raised lamp, with drivers door open and engine running and then I shut drivers door the rear pops up quite nicely, front not budging.

Sounds like a sensor problem then, try jacking front up on chasis see if it pulls sensor wipers out of the ****e. See what you get.

...old, I've had the car 4 years and 25k miles, nothing by me, nothing in the cars folder about any replacements in its past although it was owned by a lord before me who I think kept it in tip top. Before the service the car held air perfectly (once recon compressor was fitted) and went up and down with very little drama

A serious leak in a front airbag will give you the problem. Bags have a design life of 7/8 years 80K miles.

I'll get them to take a look a that, but as I say unless they managed to balls up a bag whilst doing the pads I'm hopefully it might be a mucky sensor due to poor lifting
If they let the wheels hang, not only could it be a sensor, but it could also be that an old hardened bag has split where it folds under as it over extended.
