Ahoj!

I have bog standard manually operated seats and when I lift the bar and push the seat back it is jammed after a short travel. I'm led to believe that the seat should move freely for da MOT.

Anyone help me?

I can't get the seat far enough forward to get the bolts at the back to take the seat off to get a better gander. Would holding the bar up and then ninja-kicking it from behind help?

Only if you're sat in it at the time.

Almost guarantee there's a coin or a bolt stuck in the runner. Forcing it will only cause more damage. Time for a young, fit, flexible sort of human with a torch I think.

You got a small magnet on a pen thing that looks like a extending car aerial, they are great for things like that. If not only a few quid from diy stores. Either that or there are pincer things available.

Thanks. I tried the coat hanger today to no avail. The screw would have to be bloody brass wouldn't it?

Is there a decent way to dis assemble the seat in situ? It was too dark by the time I got to look at that. I can't get access to the two rear allen screws.

nah mate. It is a foreign object as it must have fallen in. It is lying flat and is a bugger. I cannae move the seat. It is truly wedged in and a number of people have already lost their lives trying to get it oot.

Next time you see a White transit van in your street moving slowly, flag it down and tell the driver any metal he can find in the runner is his.

It'll be out quicker than Elton John

Take it you still stuck.

Have you got a hot melt glue gun, if so squeeze some glue onto the end of whatever can reach the offending screw wait a few mins until glue solidifies and hey presto - screwless
