Hi all,

My passenger electric window got stuck today, looked at it and the glass appeared to have jumped out the regulator channel. Have put the glass back in and left it shut.

The channel the glass sits in is very rusty- if I buy a new one does it have the fittings for the glass to sit in? There seems to be 2 types of regulator- any ideas what’s right for a 200tdi?

Usually it’s the channel on the regulator that rusts through, as far as I recollect there are only two types
Manual or electric, most common is electric,
There is a rubber strip that sits in the channel that the door glass pushes into, probably worth replacing that as well,

If you can't find the rubber channel or get it to go in far enough, as we did ...

Fit it in a bed of No-Nails, works and holds, ours was still going ten years later when we sold it ...

When I replaced mine earlier this year it did not come with the bit of metal that fits to the bottom of the glass, if you need that, them you may need to get a second hand window

The items that are right for a 200 series are possibly obsolete by now.
The parts you may require if available are depending on the vehicles VIN. So Channel MUC2322, Glazing rubber MUC2325 and MWC 2941 Channel locating x 2.

Very late updates on this- it had dropped out of the channel so got it stuck up and disconnected window so it didn’t drop out.

Finally got round to looking at it today- channel was rotten, but have tried the No More Nails trick as they look pretty unobtainable. Plenty of 300tdi windows on eBay but the channel underneath looks totally different.
Window seems to be holding secure for now, so hope that’ll stay!

A carefully cut lump of wood propped under the rail will stop any surprises while driving or when closing the door ...
