Afternoon. I'm being daft but I can't see how to easily replace the bulbs in the front fogs in the spoiler. I've replaced units before due to broken glass but never actually had to replace a bulb. Appears to be no easy access from the inner wing?

I take it yours is the classic in your avatar? I have never done one, but they may either have screw on glass lenses, in which case they need to be unscrewed to replace the bulb or if it is anything like mine (1999 P38) then you get access from behind the bumper by going underneath. Mine has a big plastic screw off cap...

Sorry I can't be more help, but perhaps someone with experience of classics will be along soon :)

The lamps are bolted to a bracket fixed to the inside of the spoiler. I think it is 18mm. Unplug the lamp and remove the lamp from the front of the spoiler. There are two Phillips screws, one on each side of the lamp housing, undo these and pull the plastic back from the glass lamp. The bulb is held in place by a spring clip.

Sounds similar to the Cibies I had on my Gordini Turbo....

Thanks. As I was getting the cracked front lens of the near side lamp fell away and what it revealed was that the bulb was fine. The fuse is also ok.

Is there a common point in the wiring where these fail? Any pointers in where to start the investigation would be very helpful.

These lamps only come on when the headlamps are on main beam, maybe that is your issue.

Genius. Many thanks. Just checked and they work fine on main beam. Now vaguely remember thinking this was a pain in fog

Yes it would be, but are you sure they are fog lamps. My RR left the factory with driving lamps fitted (clear glass) and operated only with high main beam.
