Front Axle Rebuild

Hi guys

This is mainly an update on my 90 as i have had internet problem's for a couple of weeks.

anyway not the weekend just gone but last weekend after sorting my clutch problem out ( leaking slave cylinder ) i decided to strip my front axle down to replace the worn C.V. joints and leaking swivel's replaced them for Teflon ones and although it didn't need it as the front disc's and pads was pretty new ( but fitted by the p.o. ) i replaced them anyway, brakes have bedded in now and working just as good as they did before and my steering feels great

and as i have no bench yet i have pushed my trailer into the garage with 2x skid's over the trailer and rested the disco rear axle onto them that i bought a few weeks ago ready for stripping / rebuilding it this weekend coming

Just out of interest, what were your CV joint symptoms?

My 90's approaching 110K and has a bit of a vibration, and whine from the front end... so I'm preparing myself for a front axle refurb - what budget would you suggest?

The symptoms was a knocking cracking noise on both CV's and depending on year, make of parts i would budget for around £400, its the swivel's and CV kits that make it expensive everything else is peanuts really
