Front and rear wing stays

Hi, my Series 3 came as an incomplete resto and soon realised the wings are missing the stays, as they flap about a bit. So, I ordered a set, which includes 2 for the front and 4 for the rear. The rears include a twisted bar and a longer bar. Thing is, I think I’ve worked out where the front one goes and the twisted shorter rear one, but I’m struggling to see the holes for the longer one, reference 332521. There’s one place that seems to have holes at the right distance, but I’m not convinced as it doesn’t seem to support much being there. Anyone have a reference diagram or a photo of their’s I could see please? It’d help no end. Cheers

I think the shorter two pairs are correct as you have shown, but I'm pretty sure the longer/rear-most pair (your first photo) isn't quite right.

I don't have any photos to hand at the moment, but mine are rotated 90 degrees to the angles you've shown, so they run across the width of the vehicle, not along it.

They don't actually fit to the chassis, but fit between the lowest part of the rear wing (bolted to the bottom of the curve), and the other end is up onto the tub.

Thanks, I think you’re right. The diagrams I found suggest so but I have no obvious holes to bolt to....

The hole in the wing should be obvious, and I guess you should have one at the edge of the floor, that will line up.

Not sure about that photo - my chassis doesn't look like that. My spring fixings are in line with the chassis beam rather than being stuck out to the side like that. I recall the end of the wing stay actually goes between the floor and the chassis.

Hi, yes that photo is, on reflection, rubbish...
got it now.. seems the edge of the rear wing on mine has corroded away somewhat where the stay should go, but I can see clearly where it should fix to the tub floor now. For anyone coming across this thread in future, this photo helped....

Ah yes, the inner edge on mine had corroded away, too. Yours looked like it was in much better condition than mine, so I thought it might still be there. I cut a strip of aluminium with a tab on it. and bent it to fit inside the curve of the wing, just riveted in place.

Some (not very good) photos of mine in place... Ignore the chassis bracket with the bolts through into the floor of the tub - those are a non-standard addition for an internal roll bar.
