Hi all,

Just a quick question, both the front and rear sunroofs seem to have seized on my Disco' 2.
I'm getting a good voltage at the motors, but they're not opening or closing. You can hear the ECU timing out after 7 sec's.
I'm hoping it's because of the heat and they'll start working later on when it cools down a bit.

Anyone know anything I can try? It doesn't look as though there's a manual way of opening / closing them.

Stu.

My front 1 stopped working and it turned out to be dirty contacts on the switch. Just cleaned them up and everything worked again. Give it a try as it could be a real chep fix.

As much as the frustration drives me to Daft's suggestion, I'm one of thems wot wants stuff to work if it's on my car.
It's the first time i've gone to open them up since last summer, so chances are somethings seized up.
Is it worth spraying wd40 all over what little I can get at with the roof in the closed position?

I know wot yu mean - but the general concensus (using that alot lately) seems to be if they open - they leak - so yu mite have the best of the two options;).

I took this from the RAVE CD -

The sunroof system consists of the following components:
l Sunroof ECU.
l BCU.
l Front sunroof switch.
l Front sunroof motor and microswitch.
l Rear sunroof - front switch.
l Rear sunroof - rear switch.
l Rear sunroof isolation switch.
l Rear sunroof motor and microswitch.
The BCU enables operation of the sunroof ECU. If the sunroof ECU does not receive an enable signal from the BCU,
neither sunroof assembly operates. The BCU is located behind the glovebox. The sunroof ECU is located above the
headlining next to the front sunroof assembly.
TestBook diagnoses the sunroof ECU.

Don't know if this helps or not

i,ve had similar on a disco 1 300tdi where water had got into the motor and seized it, voltage to the motor was correct but as it had seized it was no go so i swapped it out
