WtfOooo top hat 4.6….
No but the descriptions were very similar I think which led me to ask. I enquired with Frongoch and they said they had a few. That being said I’m going to speak to turners in the week and see if they still do them

On his Evilbay listings he has a pallet full of bare tophat blocks and alot of engines, with some say exchange (fitting available).
He/they obviously know their P38s, and what is desirable. Which I guess is why the 1 Dan posted shows the heads off to confirm tophats.
Its alot of money but takes any liner slip out of the question. Oh so worth it.
How many ways can you describe an EAS pump/ABS pump/Engine block or engine ,etc etc.
So come on what has taken your fancy? thought you had given up on the V8 route to stay standard.

A "small company" with loads of land/sheds and a couple of lads can soon pull apart alot of LRs.I might’ve imagined it but the summary at the beginning “we are a small company…” was the same between two sellers. Who knows!
I kept trying to convince myself to stay 300tdi but the more I restore and the little touches added just makes it seem wrong still to not be petrol. I also don’t even own a petrol at the moment and haven’t for a while .
The rover v8 seems most logical. I’d be open to any petrol swap that fits but the only other one I’ve seen kits for is LS and that’ll cost a lot more whereas the rover should be much simpler.
Mounts definitely need moving. Was hoping I could crack a deal with Dave on trading in my old zf and getting a recon non edc one with bellhousing to suit. Still got a 300 in the commercial so all the bits I gave in stock won’t go to waste. Might even treat it to some fresh injectors if it plays rightA "small company" with loads of land/sheds and a couple of lads can soon pull apart alot of LRs.
Before you go to far check the engine mounts, they may have to be moved.
Yes the LS/350/big block fits, its full in a Range rover bay and as you say not cheap, but oh so much fun.
But a 4.6 in a discovery should be enough You would need a gearbox too dont forget.
