Just seen this thread, Welcome to the mad club. Hope you don't loose heart and keep her on the road...
I am doing a full rebuild on a 1984 Vogue, making it the car I want that should last many years before in fails on anything major. I did brake a 1988 SE last year on 38106 miles, it was way to far gone to save but put the engine in my 84, with a tune I should get 200bhp out of it. With a custom exhaust it should burble nicely.
Welcome Just bought my first Range Rover Classic V8
Love the beast.
Had to fit new starter motor and just waiting for alternator and back on the road.
Whilst waiting ive just fitted a side exit exhaust which certainly tidies up the rear end and taking off the back box as given it a real v8 grumble which i love.
Got long mot but come the day ill need something doing.( welding ? )
Mine is 1987 3.5 efi with high mileage but its a retirement toy so any jobs i got time to do.
Loving this motor.
Hi stu... yer that's my plan for this one, not quite a full resto but deffo sort out any and all body/chassis rust I can see, the body is in bloody great shape to fair so prity lucky their, only 4 patches of bubbling iv spotted so far so hardest part is going to be matching up the paint!! Don't suppose anyone knows the colour code for this colour?? Suppose best to another post asking realy..
as for the chassis theirs obviously a few places she's been patched up but thank god all welds iv seen so far all look professionally done or least by a very good d.i.yer so all in all its just the odd bit here and their, like the bloody stupid ass unreliable front electric seats!! Lol
have you thought on how your going to refurb the plastic fittings on the outside of the car? Lkke the front grill, side inserts ect?
my front grill, bumper ends are looking faded, sun dried ect, just been trying to figure out how to refurb without buying new ones as iv not seen another classic with the fog lights moulded into the front grill and I quite like it so deffo keeping it just needs a facelift.
I was thinking of something I seen on wheeler dealers wheir they dip the parts in a carbon fibre look but not sure if it would look to boy racerish, so yer any ideas??
