Hi zen mate, yea did have air con but been removed now, is that a common fault then?.
as for sender, will pop down local rr spares in am and replace... like to keep my babies in tip top condition! Lol... bloody hard with these landys tho! Always something to fix! Hahaha love em!!

Well guys I got her back frm mot and yes you guessed it she failed!!! Lol
but good news is its all minor, headlights need positioning ect, major bit is 2 bits of welding, one at brake master cylinder mounting and offside rear seat belt anchorage point..
so all in all im well happy, was first mot since iv had her so didn't realy know if I brought a good un or not, had good feeling I did like but stil nervous time!!! Lol
got her booked in with welder in am so all going well she wil be bk on road tomorrow!!!

Just seen this thread, Welcome to the mad club. Hope you don't loose heart and keep her on the road...

Loose heart for rr classic v8! Never, never I tel ya!!! That's blasphemy that is!! Hahaha

just to prove my point here's my 2nd classic I just picked up Wednesday.
So far im loveing her, picked her up frm north Yorkshire, so 180 mile trip bk sat at 80 most of the way and no problems at all, in fact id go so far as she's the best classic iv drove to date, not as fast as my other 3.5 classic bt that's got no cats, straight thru exhaust ect ect this ones completely standard, hell she even has the original cassette player!! Oh amd key fob that still works!! Lol..

Welcome Just bought my first Range Rover Classic V8
Love the beast.
Had to fit new starter motor and just waiting for alternator and back on the road.
Whilst waiting ive just fitted a side exit exhaust which certainly tidies up the rear end and taking off the back box as given it a real v8 grumble which i love.
Got long mot but come the day ill need something doing.( welding ? )
Mine is 1987 3.5 efi with high mileage but its a retirement toy so any jobs i got time to do.
Loving this motor.

I am doing a full rebuild on a 1984 Vogue, making it the car I want that should last many years before in fails on anything major. I did brake a 1988 SE last year on 38106 miles, it was way to far gone to save but put the engine in my 84, with a tune I should get 200bhp out of it. With a custom exhaust it should burble nicely.

Hi stu... yer that's my plan for this one, not quite a full resto but deffo sort out any and all body/chassis rust I can see, the body is in bloody great shape to fair so prity lucky their, only 4 patches of bubbling iv spotted so far so hardest part is going to be matching up the paint!! Don't suppose anyone knows the colour code for this colour?? Suppose best to another post asking realy..
as for the chassis theirs obviously a few places she's been patched up but thank god all welds iv seen so far all look professionally done or least by a very good d.i.yer so all in all its just the odd bit here and their, like the bloody stupid ass unreliable front electric seats!! Lol

have you thought on how your going to refurb the plastic fittings on the outside of the car? Lkke the front grill, side inserts ect?
my front grill, bumper ends are looking faded, sun dried ect, just been trying to figure out how to refurb without buying new ones as iv not seen another classic with the fog lights moulded into the front grill and I quite like it so deffo keeping it just needs a facelift.

I was thinking of something I seen on wheeler dealers wheir they dip the parts in a carbon fibre look but not sure if it would look to boy racerish, so yer any ideas??

Hi mudderman... how much fun are these v8 classics ay!!! I certainly know what you mean with the side exit exhust, sometimes I think its to loud but then I put my foot down amd think NAR just right!!!:D

are you prepping yours for off roading then? As if youv gone to the trouble of a side exit exhaust then can I suggest you remove your fuel tank and either put it in the boot or jst run on lpg like me! Lol but the advantages it gives off rd is second to none, no more worrying if that drop offs to steep or is it going to hit my tank moments!!!

You have any pictures?

Mine has the old ally grill and no external trim, the inside, well haven't decided yet but got some tred plate lino and hesian back carpet. The colour code should be on the slam panel above the rad, if not Halfrauds should be able to help. If you want a front grill from the 88 I stripped I still have it, got the bumper valance as well but not in the best condition.
