Alain.

Have you tried swappng the ECU with another known good one??

-Wills :)

Hello,

The story is more complicated.I bought the p38 this day but, the owner will bring it to me next thuesday. He was deseperated with the autobox and , he sell for only few €

I thought it's was a good idea to began my RR way off life with an broken one , isn't? it's does't be worst...after;)

For my future with this car, I bet I can fix the autobox problem and if it's not : spares...

So he changes the autobox: same problem; after he changes the gearbox ecu :always the same, so he was a "desapointed RR house wife " and decides to sell it tome , whishing good luck..

The car is nice and going well, i just have to fix the autobox wicth needs 3800 RPM to pass the next gear.

So i hoppe someone had fixed the same problem in the "Holly RR United Kingdom"...:)

I don't know which automatic gearbox is in the 2.5 TD, but if it has a kickdown cable, loosen the cable a couple of turns, that might cure it.

Have you got the correct gearbox and ECU in? I don't know how you could identify the correct gearbox, but the ECU should be part number AMR5258 or IGG100050.

That's good ideas.

The protocol of the last owner was :
1.I change the autobox = the same
2.I change the gearbox ecu = the same
He was ruined and tired about RR.....
and the RR garage doent find nothing about this problem.

I think

1. Ok to check the kicdown
2. Ok to check the ecu number
3. i .want to check the cooling sensor because i read this when the engine is cold, the autobox needs more RPM to warm it
4. It's may be the speed sensor or the airflow sensor

More idea to help an already failed RR french owner?

Thanks a lot
Alain

So, I have to

Hello Alain. I dont expect it is this simple but have you checked the sport button is working correctly ? It sounds to me like it is stuck in sport mode.

Here is the the check List for my autobox problem :

1. Ok to check the kicdown
2. Ok to check the ecu number
3. OK to check the cooling sensor because i read this when the engine is cold, the autobox needs more RPM to warm it
4. OK for the speed sensor, the airflow sensor, the ABS sensor for the speed
5. OK for the sport button

Someone knows ifIs the airflow sensor command the kicdown ?

Any idea is welcomed !

Thanks from south of France.
