Hi.

New to the forum and just dipped my toe in the water with a Freelander project. A 2001 1.8 with a head gasket fault plus one or two other minor issues.

It was cheap and I'm relatively hand with time on my hands.

Looks like its stood for a while as discs look quite rusty.

Collected car on a trailer but had real problems getting it on and off the trailer. I thought handbrake was siezed on and could see discs were very rusty. Had to winch car on the trailer and the whole car seemed siezed.....same dragging it off the trailer.

Ive jacke up the whole rear and rear wheels are stiff but not siezed.....same with front.

Cant think what would make the car so hard to move???

Any thoughts??

Paid £500.......bodywork and interior is very good. Not in a hurry so could do most mechanical work myself.

Are there any checks I can do on the IRD siezure theory G Man??

Try unbolting the prop shaft and see if it improves.
I may be wrong but when you try to turn the rear or front wheels you need to ensure both wheels are off the floor.
