The Freelander went my brothers work today, for oil & filter change, drop link replaced, new pollen filter, 4 X Toyo Proxes CF2 suv tyres and front pads & disc's. :)
Haven't driven it yet, as I'm on call. Brother picked it up and dropped it off. Said it drove loads better on the Toyo tyres. And the knocking noise has gone. Also 70 mph steering wobble knock, now the warped disc's are in the bin. :)
 
Fitted the light guards, when I got home......couldnt wait till the weekend lol........even made myself a rivnut tool. :)

Picked up a new Bosch maf sensor today, and fitted after work.

Cheap ebay knock off sensor, no manufacturers markings whatsoever.

Went out for a test drive, and was worse to start with. Then went intermittent, then seemed ok driving back into my estate. Think the cheap ebay tat has thrown the ecu values right out. So my brother is bringing the Snap-on diagnosis tool round tomorrow night to clear any old codes, and reset all the values.
 
Well the Freelander is driving worse with a new genuine Bosch maf sensor fitted, had the snap on machine on it tonight. No codes at all, whilst driving everything was within parameters except air mass, was in parameter but only going up to 350 (parameter is between 350-3500 approx) . Went down to his work and put it on the Delphi and the same. Left it down there now, he's going to leave the battery disconnected all day, then take it for a test drive. See if the ecu relearns it's values. If not, I don't know. Hopefully his mechanic will find the fault. :(
 
There's a reset on T4 for the adaptions for MAF

Not sure of any other way to reset them - might be on the snap on kit

Hi mate, there wasn't one on Snap-on or Delphi. I know a couple of independent garages with T4. Cheers.

But it's getting there, it's dangerous to drive at the moment.

Going to check the map sensor too, as this seems to be a common faults along with the maf.
 
Well I've cleaned out the intake, map sensor hole was blocked. In the intake and sensor. Dried it all out, refitted still the same and no codes. Map sensor is only 3 months old, and new correct Bosch maf fitted. So going to run with maf disconnected for now, as it runs spot on with no smoke or any loss in power.
 
Had to take the wife to work this morning so took the Freelander for a blast, works perfect with MAF disconnected. Loads of power through the range, no smoke. So just going to leave it like that. Seems a bit quicker than my old TD4. :)
 
Picked up some rear mud guards today for £15, whilst I was there noticed it had a power socket so got that too for £5. :D

Stopped at the range in Stockton and my old Freelander was there. :D
Still looked well looked after, looked like the lift kit had been removed and standard size tyres but still looked good.

Also made me want a black soft nudge bar and spot light kit.
As my Freelander doesn't have fog lights, I ordered the fog light kit rather than the long range spot lights. Looks like less wiring and only £29.99 Land Rover dealer clearance. :)
