Freelander replacement key....will a discovery key work

Hi peeps

First post on here, bought a freelander last week with only one key. I have been looking at replacement keys and was wondering if a blank discovery 2 TD5 would work with my freelander once the key is cut and the fob programmed to my car? I just hate having a separate fob n key lol.

I don't know why Land Rover did not use the Disco TD5 key for the Freelander as its so much better, as far as I know, its not compatible with the Freelander system.

I know it is really terrible having a separate fob - how do you cope ? You'll have to put up with it as they are totally different...
