I have tried searching the forum but nothing appears to fit the problem I have.

I have bought a 2000 1.8 5 door Freelander. very happy with it but as of this morning I cannot get the rear tailgate to open.

When you pull the handle you can hear the mechanism working, the rear window drops the required inch but the door will not budge. I have tried both electronically and manually but the door is steadfast.

The rear window works from the switch inside. The central locking is working fine but as I said each time I try the rear door the window drops but the door just does not budge.

Any help would be appreciated.
